Urban planners, environmentalists and real estate developers as well as municipal green space offices need accurate and up-to-date data on urban green spaces in order to make effective decisions in the areas of urban planning, environmental protection and real estate management.
You can obtain an accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date picture of urban green spaces with our “Urban Green Spaces” data package.
Urban greenery with its positive effects on the environment and quality of life is of immense importance for sustainable urban development. Urban greenery reduces air pollution and noise, improves the urban climate and at the same time contributes to climate protection and adaptation to climate change. Green spaces and parks act as natural carbon reservoirs, regulate the city’s temperature and water balance and promote health through outdoor exercise and socializing opportunities. More green spaces make cities cooler and increase the quality of life.
Data on urban green spaces is therefore a crucial basis for both urban and real estate development.
Using machine learning methods, the operational green space processor developed by us classifies and analyzes both digital orthophotos (DOPs) and satellite images. Rule-based training data is created automatically so that classification can be carried out automatically, i.e. without manually created training data. This training data is based on ALKIS, OpenStreetMap and Sentinel-2 data. The green areas determined are then intersected with parcel boundaries and other data to enable quantification.
Our data package “Urban Green Spaces” provides you with a detailed map of your urban area with a comprehensive and up-to-date picture of all urban green spaces.
The results can be provided in common geodata formats or as an OGC web service to enable easy integration into existing systems.
Our data package “Urban Green Spaces” supports informed decision-making in urban planning, more effective environmental management and thus contributes to a higher quality of life in urban areas.
The up-to-date, detailed data provides our customers with a solid basis for decision-making processes in urban planning and real estate management as well as for the planning and implementation of climate protection and environmental protection measures in urban ecosystems.
